IBM Inks SoftLayer Cloud Deal with Equinix – CIO Today

In a move to give enterprises direct access to the full portfolio of SoftLayer cloud services, IBM has inked a partnership with Equinix that spans the Americas, Europe, and Asia Pacific. By interfacing with the Equinix Cloud Exchange, SoftLayer -- a platform designed to give customers complete access and control over the infrastructure that they need to build in the cloud -- is expanding into nine worldwide markets. At the same time, Equinix just announced what it called Cloud Exchange enhancements, including API functionality that promise to make it easier for service providers to use a single interface to the exchange and drive scalable, private and secure connections to cloud services with near real-time provisioning.
